Proper sling application for 1886 take-down

I have an "86" deluxe take-down that has an "improper" sling swivel stud in the butt stock and nothing on the barrel or nose cap.
I need to know what it should have to be correct. Pictures would be great but an explanation might work without them.

  I've had a deluxe and other 86's that came from the factory with the "eyes" for the Winchester sling. One mounted under the nosecap and the other under the buttstock. I don't have any photos handy, but they are shown in Madis and probably subsequent books on Winchesters.
