Bersa handguns?

I've got a chance to buy a Bersa Thunder Ultra Compact Pro .45 ACP at a decent price.

Are the Bersa handguns any good?

I have never owned or shot one. The reviews are decent. Just wanted to get some other insight/opinions.

  had several x-military friends buy and hated them and sold in matter of few weeks. But in the end it is ur choice. If u can shoot first do so see if it fits u, and you like it

  Had one in .22 LR, couple of years ago. Descent quality pistol, functioned OK. Sights and trigger pull were marginal, though alright for a small sized, double action pocket pistol.

  I have a Bersa Thunder and Firestorm in .380. Good quality and fire 100% reliably for the past year or so. I have never fired one in the larger caliber, but would have no reservations on trying one, based on my experience with the smaller calibers. [:)]

  They're kinda like Dodges; you either love 'em or hate 'em. I don't care to own one, but I know several people who do, and who love 'em.

  I have both the 9 & 45 UC and the T22. They have shot first time and every time. The 22 does need something like Mini Mags to work good. I'm very impressed with all 3 that I have.

  Fundamental quality is good on these guns, but the "name factor" is minimal, meaning that they aren't that desirable in resale.
  
  For what they are, they're fine. I wouldn't turn one down if its a gun I could otherwise use at a good price.
  
  EDIT: FWIW, the .380 "thunder" guns in particular have a good reputation. I've never heard anything bad about these, and next to actual military surplus, they probably represent the best bargain in the category of PPK-like blowback .380s.
  
  The larger caliber guns, like the .45 you mentioned above are based on the Walther design.

  I know several people with the 380's by Bersa and they are good to go but sorry to say in the bigger cal I done have a clue

  Not to hijack the thread, but which model Bersa takes the hicap mags?
