Inland Carbine

Was there any markings on the M1 Carbine that where given to the supervisors who where allowed to have one carbine to take home?
Also can anybody give me a rought price on a type one with serial #.
459797. It looks almost brand new.

  sunday i bought an inland carbine at a gun show,was wondering if i got a good deal.barrell inland 6/43
  stock,forearm,bolt,safety,trigger and all internal inland.
  rec inland#849++ left side of rec stamped federal ordnance inc

  By "supervisors" do you mean Officers? I dont think the US military allowed anyone to take their Carbine home and did not stamp them for that purpose. Thats not to say many were not "taken" anyway.
  
  The only marking I have seen on Carbines are importer stamps such as "Blue Sky", rack numbers painted on the wood stocks and Korean writing stenciled onto stocks of the guns lended to them. There are some Carbines out there stamped "Bavarian Rural Police".

  Several of the prime contractors made special M1 carbines for their archives, executives, & presentation to special folks. These rifles never had an all numeric serial number, & they never had military proofs on the metal or wood. Alpha serial numbers are most common.
  
  A rough estimate of the value of your carbine is $200-$2,000. High quality photos would be required in order to pin it down better.
