best bore lights ??
Thinking of getting a bore light in the $10-$20 range. Will not use it everyday, but would like to have one around just in case. Smallest bores are .22,(bolt actions) largest bores .54 (muzzle loaders) Any advise or shared experiences would be appreciated.

If you have a mini-mag flashlight then this one works pretty good for cheap.

I have one of the old pen lights with the 90 degree bent plastic tube on the end. It has a standard incandescent bulb and gives a nice look down the bore. I don't know if you can still buy them.
Most now available are LED on a little flexible gooseneck (Walmart has them under the Winchester brand) but I find them to be so bright you can't see anything except glaring light unless you sort of shine them in indirectly.0 -
Those fiber-optic idaho shows work very good. I have a LED on the tube and as said they are very bright. I use the fiber-optic most. 0 -
As stated the led's are way too bright. Old style with plain bulb works best. No problem finding them at most gun shows. Midway should have them also. 0 -
I have the fiber optic job, but it is a pain to carry all that at shows. I use a Remington bore light. Works great. 0
