Westernfield was the "store brand" used by Montgomery Wards, just as Sears used JC Higgins. Guns were made by companies such as Winchester, Marlin, Savage, Mossberg, etc- but marked with the Montgomery Wards name. Go to the home page for gunpartscorp, down at the bottom of the page is a link for cross reference- look up your model number, see who made it, and what the parent model was. Typically store brand guns are the same as the parent model, but will have a plainer finish, stocks may be hardwood rather than walnut, etc. Values typically 10% less than parent model. 0 -

I used to own one of those. Most likely its manufactured by marlin and a variation of their model 336 30-30. At least that is what mine was. There were a few minor changes with the western field version but it still bagged me a doe during the hunting doe season. Best 0 -
I'm betting it's a Mossberg. The Mossberg lever guns look a good bit like Marlins. I have a "Revelation" made for Western Auto and it's a Mossberg. 0 -
If it's a mossberg the trigger goes with the lever when cycled. If not then you have something else. 0
