    I would clean it before you shoot it and clean it again after you shoot it. Thats about it.

    +1 to that.

    Also, if you shoot it a real lot, the trigger will wear in and improve. [;)]

    So far as I know, revolvers don't require any more break-in than that to function as well as they can.

    Yep, You have received excellent advice.
    Shoot it alot , clean it when you shoot it, and you will both break in together for a long x-ring relationship.

    I had to be convinced that you can clean a gun too much....to the detrement of the gun. My middle road solution is those wonderful bore snakes. I use one when I know I'll be shooting a bit later in the week, and then give a full cleaning.

    BTW surely you will reload for your 44 Mag...real easy on a single stage press. You find that sweet ammo and cut your groups in 1/2.

    My barrel break in method involves biting the head off a live chicken while spinning around 3 times and shouting voodoo chants.

    You'll need alot of chickens as it's best to do this between every shot.

    I've found my groups have greatly tightened on my stainless pistols as result.
