I just saw this thread, and the topic was closed.

That said, I have a brand spanking Gold Cup Trophy that does the same thing, and it appears to be common. I did put in a couple of my Wilson magazines and it went away. Who is making the magazines for Colt? That appears to be the problem.

  Same problem with Kimber mags...I switched to Wilson in my Kimbers and now they run flawlessly.

  I have a few WWII-era government magazines (not "clips") that perform without any failures to feed in my older Springfield 1911, but I have a couple of Colt-branded magazines that do produce feed problems. I have three Chip McCormick magazines that give no problems.
  
  Anyway, the point is, I suggest that if you experience this problem with a new or even an older 1911, always try a new, premium 1911 magazine to see if the issue goes away before you start fooling around with the internals of the weapon.
