there are many brands available. anyone have a recommendation for that early winchester octagon barell deep blue look? thanx in advance

Mark Lee Express Blue, you can get it from Brownells. The big thing is the prep polish. Don't over polish only go to about 320. The finer you polish the longer it will take for rustblueing.

I concur with Cowboy. Have used both, both are great but Pilkington's is slightly better.
