Remington 1100 28 GA problem
My brand new 1100 in 28 gauge has a problem in that it locks open when there are still rounds available in the magazine. The first 10 rounds fired normally then it began to lock open about every other shot. I took it almost completely down and lubed it (it was pretty dry). It did slowly get better but once while dove hunting yesterday it did it again. Conversely twice yesterday it also failed to lock open after the last shell had been fired. Have used 1 oz 7/8 ounce and 3/4 ounce different brand shells. Does not matter.
Gas system is properly assmbled and clean. I suspect drag on the magazine follower that is slowing feeding down. The mag plug supplied is the same as a 12 gauge and was a snug fit into the plastic follower. I'm going to remove and re-seat the plug.
4 boxes now and 2.5 dove limits. But its a pain.
Ideas?? Thanks

Thanks You Tube!!
Discovered problem!. I had not installed the plug properly. Plug should be last in after spring with fat end toward muzzle. Now I have to check the other 1100's and 11-87.
You Tube "Troubleshoot Remington 1100" there are 3 clips presented by a gunsmith. Good stuff.0
