Sako imported by Colt?
I need help pinning down what this rifle is. Stamped colt mfg on the bbl. There is no model number on it anywhere. A 3 digit number is stamped on the left side of the action as well as the bolt, but its not a Sako model number. 300 magnum chamber and double cut checkering on the stock. Finland stamped on the bbl and action. I think its a Coltsman Rifle. Did these actions have a model number on them? Im guessing the 3 digit # on the receiver is the serial number since it matches the bolt and its the only number I can find on the rifle. The rifle is in 95% condition what is this rifle worth.

You need to post properly lit, sharp photographs of the rifle including but not limited to:
Overall of both sides.
Details of action both sides.
Stock
Barrel
Remove the barreled action from stock to see if there are any identifying marks or proof marks on the underside of the barreled action. Provide photographs.

My 2009 Blue Book lists a Coltsman Standard Rifle that was available in 300 Winchester Magnum. My 2009 Blue Book lists the rifle you described, as best I can tell from your description, at a value of $425 in 95% condition. As mentioned above and will probably be mentioned by others, good clear photos are necessary to give a valid evaluation. 0 -
FWIW...Colt, An American Legend, page 268: "In 1962 management pushed the bolt actions again. The new lot of rifles had Sako actions, The Standard model a product of the Kodiak Company (successor to Jefferson Arms), and the Deluxe by Sako of Finland. Most rifles bore THE COLTSMAN barrel markings. By 1965, the Coltsman types were discontinued, after reaching a production total of about 10,000." 0
