Will the 223 shoot 500 yards? Sure. Accurately? Depends on the wind, load, shooter, etc. Does your model have a blind magazine or hinged floor plate? The blind mag is the ADL configuragion, the hinged floorplate is the BDL. The specific model depends on exactly what you have.... you will probably need to post pics to get a better idea of specific model. Hope I've helped.

Depending on how old it it is, it could be a Remington 700 SPS or a 700 Police version. Only pictures can tell us what it is. It could also be a Remington 700 Varmint Special that some one replaced the stock on. Yes it can shoot 500 yards but also depends on a good quality scope and the shooter as well.

    chuck,

Here is a thread with some details about posting photographs on the forums:

It's a simple process requiring very little time or effort but will make a huge difference in the information we can provide.

    Best.

Is the pistol grip more pronounced and is there a cut in the bottom of the stock to hold onto?? If so yours might have a McMillan stock.

Does your stock look similar to this but without the cheek rest???
