filler screws

I have a old ruger 77 ultralight carbine with sights. I had to remove rear sight to install scope. I need filler screws for the holes where the sight was. I can't find them anywhere....Midway, numbrich, brownells..etc. My question is: Will any other firearm brand, remington, browing...etc.. exchange with the ruger...thanks

  Generically speaking, most filler (plug) screws for rifle sights are 6-48 and can be found even at local gun shops if they do any sort of scope mounting. Brownells carries these in sets as will Sinclair and Midway in their 'gunsmithing parts' section. Gunsmiths usually just let them fall on the floor to be swept up at the end of the day.
  
  The Ruger aficionados will have to confirm this as I don't have an M77 handy right this minute.
