1100 light barrel

can anyone explain what a remington light barrel is? are there limitations? where/when they can't be used.
what is there purpose? can they be interchanged with regular barrels?

  Are you referring to light weight barrels for the 20 gage? If this is the case early 20 gage guns were made on the 12 gage frame and the round loop on the barrel fits over the magazine tube which is the same diameter as a 12 gage. When the started making light weight guns they made the mage tube smaller for 20 gage and the barrels are not interchangable.

  The recievers and barrels are smaller for the Light 20 Remington.
  The barrels can't interchange for that reason.

  The 20 Ga. lightweight barrels are marked "LW" or the latest "LT-20".. The "LW" is easily recognized by it's short tang...Much like the tang on an 870 barrel...
