Opinions please on Savage 93R17 HMR

What do you guys think about the Savage Model 93R17 HMR? I know that it is not a high end rifle by any means and I don't know what it is capable at say 100 yards.
It is on the used gun rack at our local Gander Mountain for $259.00 and appears to be in like new condition.

    A quick look on the auction side shows that price isn't unreasonable.I've had one for several years and shoot it a lot.Its a good gun to keep in the truck for varmints.Get a good scope and zero it for 135 yards.Ive had best accuracy with the Hornady 17 grain bullets

    Got the heavy barreled thumbhole version. With no wind, 17 grain polymers, 5 round 1/4 inch groups are achievable. Will turn a crow into a ball of feathers.

    Awesome caliber with no wind. Second the Hornady bullets.

    Mine puts the lights out on the nutria, head shots are pretty easy.

    Good accurate rifles for a low price.

    I've seen one hold 1/2" groups at 100 yards all day long.

    I got a deal on the camo with scope package. It is way better than I am, and will put three in a dime at 100 yards if I have a very, very good day. Love it.

    good gun,
    I've shot probally around 1000 rounds through mine with no issues. this gun will shoot some great groups for you just beware of the wind.

    Go with the heavy barreled version with a laminate stock...these do great ... I resently returned a Classic "sporter" model with walnut stock...It had a 6" longer standard barrel and was a beautiful gun....but would not pattern worth a darn....dont know if the barrel had a spur or the light barrel was getting too hot, but I could not get a 2" pattern at 50 yards in 5 rounds...the replacement I got (like you are talking about) is a tack driver ... got a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9 x 40 scope on it with Leupold rings...just wish the ammo cost was more reasonable.
