Hakim Thumb? Anyone else done this?

    I cannot remember where my issue of the magazine is but several years ago Guns and Ammo published a book on surplus firearms . The Hakim was one of the guns featured .The article gave a detailed account of operation, field stripping etc . Try to locate an issue if you can I believe it was in th 80s

    Ok did some digging and found the book . It was from about May of 1998 Volume 4 of Surplus Firearms printed by Guns and Ammo .The article is by Ray Hughes.Maybe some one else here has a scanner and a copy and can cut and paste the article for you ,if not I will try to type it up and post it later

    +1 Makes Garand Thumb look like a love bite if you don't. Be extra careful removing the dust cover/bolt assembly too, the same force is contained in that small package when you remove it. Follow these bolt dis-assembly instructions:

    and make sure you have a good grip on it with the bolt face on your bench.
