Online Ammo Purchase
Hi Guys,
Do all companies selling ammo require a signature upon delivery? Because that complicates things for me a little bit.

Cabella's, Midway, and ammo to go never had me sign 0 -
The shipper may require it but the delivery driver has final determination on whether it gets signed or not. 0 -
Per above, not every time/across the board.
In a pinch, I've left a Post-it note w/ following: "UPS/FedEx driver, please leave w/ my neighbor @ (add address)". Sign & date it.
YMMV0 -
Proof of age applies to the purchase.
So when you buy it using your credit card, you generally sign electronically at the time of purchase that you are of appropriate age.
As to delivery, I don't think I've *ever* actually signed for receipt of ammo. More than a few times, I've had ammo left on my doorstep with no signature given on my end.
I don't know if that's illegal or not (I suspect its not illegal), but even if it were illegal, I'm not the one who dropped off the ammo without a signature!
Also, even assuming delivery without signature were illegal, unless some third party stole the ammo off your porch and robbed a bank with it, who would ever know or care?0 -
Plus, UPS & Fedex require either indirect delivery (any adult at your house or a neighbor's, or a presigned slip of paper) or direct delivery (adult at your house) depending upon the insured value of the package.
And, of course, many large companies have contracts with the carriers with whatever requirements they agree to.

I buy from Sportsman's Guide and they confirm my age when I order and the UPS guy drops the package at my doorstep.... 0 -
I ship 20 +/- ammo packages per week . I used to drop it off and process it at the UPS depot. Never was a signature required. Now I have an account and again I ship without a signature required. Not saying it's not in their rules but for several years the depot never had me ship with an adult signature required 0 -
Never had to sign upon delivery. I did have to show my DL when I opened my accounts to prove my age. They leave my ammo at my door if I am not home. 0 -
As already stated, some sort of age verification is normally required when ordering, but I have had thousands of rounds of ammo delivered by UPS recently and have never been asked to sign for it. ...the UPS guy is probably too pi$$ed at me for having to carry the stuff to the front door [;)] [B)] 0
