That sounds like a reasonable price for a Pro-Hunter. Is it used or New? There will always be ammo for the 204 Ruger, from what I see, it is fairly popular. The only thing that would be possibly better IMHO, is the 223, or the 22-250 Remington's.

I'd try to get it for less. The scope and mounts won't be cheap.

Looking at this gun. Asking price is $575.00. The gun has a blued barrel and no scope mounts or any accessories. The stock is the thumb hole through the stock model with all the extra padding. Grey camo pattern.

Is this a fair price and I am worried about ammo availability. I want to make this my primary coyote gun. Any advise?

Is the frame blued or stainless? It's my understanding that ProHunter barrels are stainless, not blued. Considering the mix & match application you may have a Prohunter frame with a regular barrel. Nothing wrong with that so long as the barrel is sound, but it would be good to know the barrel brand. T/C brand barrel is very good, there are others out there like MGM and Bullberry that cost a fair bit more. Bergara makes Encore barrels, they work fine but sell for about $165.00.

So long as the barrel is "T/C factory or better" I'd say $575.00 is OK. MGM and Stratton Custom make a great steel base, or you can get a plain old Weaver alloy base for about $10.00. I tend to use Warne rings. Given the cartridge and gun I'd say get a very good scope & it will be a very, very accurate shooter.
