COLT PYTHON HOW OLD?

I just purchased a Colt Python blued 4" barrel. Owner said he had it forever and a day. Serial # 569xx. It is in fantastic shape! Must have laid around more than carried. Can anyone tell me year of manufacture, please? Thanks in advance.

  If its in really good shape it always nice to get a Colt factory letter on you gun.. There is a charge but they will tell you everything about the gun.

  1966 is the same year I grad. high school. 45 years ago. This Python had my name on it.
