    Always let a gun smith do the work unless you are gualified. I had a gun done for me.. I highly recc Novak's in Parksberg West Va. He is really good with 3 gen smiths

    Had me a pair of S&W 1076. One was a civilian model with that safety thing and another which was a FBI gun without it (still got this one). It's just that plastic dimple that sticks out and a spring which are removed from the slide that is removed to make the gun capable of firing with the magazine removed. I got it laying around here some where.

    I suppose one could do it. I mean if you goof it up it's just plastic and a spring. Hell I'll bet you could just Dremel it out if you didn't want to take the slide apart [:D]. I just paid my smith $10 to do the job. Also if you did take the thing apart you could pay your smith to put it back together for $5 since you did half the work [:D].
