I have a Colt Detective Special in 38 Special. It's in approximately 98% condition and has the box and original paperwork. It also comes with a leather holster marked "Evaluators, Quantico VA, FBI Quick Draw". The 2" barrel is marked "DETECTIVE SPEC. .38 Special CTG." The serial number is 563220. Even the checkering on the grips is nice and crisp. Any ideas on it's value? Thanks.

  They seem to be averaging around $350-400.00 with no box and paper's, so I am thinking yours would be around $500.00ish if you are lucky. Yes, I do know yours is an early one like mine.

  Update... just got off the phone with Colt, it was manufactured in 1950.

  If its truly 98%, then its easily a $550-$600 gun.
