Can a winchester model 12 12 gauge 2 3/4" chamber be modified ( have chamber lenghtened) to shoot 3" shells
The reason i ask is i own a model 12 roit gun (watts commemorative edition[:D]) which is in like new condition. I would like to purchase a extra barrel/ mag, forearm which i see a lot of on ebay. I would like to have a spare duck gun realize the new set up will have to be fitted .What i really wanted was a 12 heavy duck
thanks rp0 -
"is this possible ?"..........NOT REALY, THE 20 GA. USES A SMALLER RECEIVER. HAVE YOU TRIED BOYDS STOCKS? 0 -
I know I can get repro's, even on repro's you still have to finish, sand/trim to fit, just curious and being a woodworker to some degree I don't mind a little triming/cutting/fitting on an older stock if that would work. I just can't find out what the difference is and where its different, guessing the wrist/receiver area ? Stock bolt is the same part #, so thats O.K I know. Receiver size is ?? 0 -
the receiver is about 7/8's the size 0f the 12 ga. just about everything is sized proportionly, could you shave enought wood of to make it fit; sure......but you'd still have a greatly altered stock. just as well to buy a repro......manybe finished already. 0
