If it's S & W factory original condition, with excellent cosmetics, in time, and locks up tight, sounds OK. Remember though 45 LC ammo is way expensive to buy and shoot if you don't reload. Probably 2/3 times the cost of .45 ACP.

Be sure and file off all the sharp edges, specially around the sights. Before taking it bear hunting. So when mr bruin shoves it up your butt, it won't do as much damage.

EDIT #1, The serial number you have given us is incorrect. In the late 70's, early 80's, time frame Model 25's would have had 6 digit serial numbers between the 500,000 to 700,000 range.

EDIT #2, Pinned barreled Model 25-5's would have been made between 1978 & 1982. All of these would had 6 digit serial numbers in the 400000 to 600000 range.
