It's a pretty rare rifle as compared to the much more common Russian made M-N's. Original Remington made, then captured and reworked by the Finn's during the winter war of 1939. Lot of history in that rifle. Don't know if it would be worth 3 times what common 91-30's are going for though.

On the other hand, doubt if there are very many Finn rework Remington 91's floating around. If your a history buff rather then a shooter not likely you would have many other opportunities to pick up a similar one at a better price.

I know a Gew98 not having been messed with can run into the 1,500 range but re worked by the turks and it's a 300 tp 350.00 dollar rifle. 225.00 when I bought mine.

I don't mind finn re work but don't want to pay for it as some sort of a bonus it's not.

    Thanks for the reply...

Being a Remington, a Finn capture, and still wearing the czar's crest, are all plus factors. $450 is about right, if not a little on the low side.

I have an identical gun. Remington, Finn captured, crest intact. A knowledgeable dealer who sells mainly military guns (Big Jim at all the local shows) and who is usually spot on had it marked for $200 2 years ago. I'd personally say that I got a very good price... but that yours is a little on the high end in this market. I'd let it run at that price, if it didn't sell I'd try $350. JMO.

Except for mine being a Westinghouse, I say the same.

It's worth what it brings, but I wouldn't expect to get more than $350 for one like it. I bought two, both SA marked with Russian bolts, for much less a few years ago.
