I am Offended Evildr...
You really should reconsider cutting that barrel off. Find another barrel that has already been cut, then it will be a dual purpose shotgun.....[8D]

The original barrel has minor pitting, so I did not think it was that big a deal.I assumed there were lots if parts still around and I am not sure if i am that skillful to replace the barrel.I have not altered anything yet and it's just the begining of winter.

You gotta do what you gotta do. I just love the old winnys and hate to see one circumcized unjustly...[:D]0 -
THE M-12 BARRELS ARN'T (EASYLY) USER REPLACEABLE AND AS THE COND. ISN'T THE BEST GO FOR IT (A PIPE CUTTER WORKS WELL[;)]). ALSO, IF YOU WANT, YOU CAN HAVE THE CUT BARREL THREADED FOR SCREW IN CHOKES. 0 -
Did you say it was a RIBBED barrel[?] I can't find original post. If ribbed I would NEVER chop the end off. 0 -
quote:I forgot to mention it has a small rib on top of the barrel.Thickest in the middle of the rib and tapering to each end.How do i remove the plug ? I have many gunsmith screwdrivers and a can of Kriol and skills.

Thats what I mean, a Winchester raised rib Model 12 gun barrel is not a dime a dozen. It hurts to see one cut off. 0
