Hi-Standard Magazine?
Have a bunch of these but not sure what they are. The box was labeled Hi-Standard, but the one mag that is stamped Hi-standard is slightly different. Just want to know who's mags these truly are. See the pictures.

That is a second generation magazine for the early Model B.
IT should fit and function in any Model B or Model H-B
These models are the short grip frame guns and teh magazine is too short for other models. The follower button is too small for the Model G-B but I might work in that model as well.0 -
I just figured it out that the HD mean Hi-Standard Model H-D, duuuuhhhh[:p] Thank you to JohnStimson, I just did a searcn on the Model B and that is what they are. Thank you all for your help. 0 -

Curious, how similar are the pre-war Woodsman and the HB mags? From the proportions I'd have sworn it was for the Colt, but the positioning of the spring, the fact that it was labeled as H.S., and above all, your assessment, convince me beyond a doubt that it is for the early HB.
My H.S. mag experience is limited to my HD Military, a Victor, and numerous 103 and similar Hamden models.
p.s. Brass man. Would you mind posting a picture of the one labeled H.S. along side one of the others?

The High Standard magazines are very much like the Colt prewar Woodsman magazines in size and shape but are distinctly different. It is not uncommon to find a Colt magazine (the only manufacturer of the time who actually marked their magazines) in Fiala, Hartford or High Standard guns. All these makes have similar magazines
The magazine pictured is from an early Model B - several years before the Model H-B was introduced. By the time the Model H-B was introduced, the follower button was a different shape. However each make has one or more characteristics that differentiate one make from another.

I have no first hand experience. I have heard generally that the Colt magazine will fit and function in the High Standard. However, I have also heard from one or two people that they had feeding problems. Unfortunately we do not know whether these magazines functioned properly in a Colt or that they were not properly adjusted.

THE magazine angles are the same for al .22 cal pistols - teh floor plate angle can be misleading.
This particular magazine is from after the Dura-Matic was introduced in late 1954 because it has the pocket in the left side for teh Dura-Matic magazine release. Since the magazines were produced with cadmium plating from early 1954 through at least August 1959, this magazines is from after that time which would be the late 102 series and after and since it has a metal follower it if from before late 1965 to easrly 1965 when teh followers were changed to a white delrin plastic.0 -

What really threw me was that the floor plate of the one has a higher angle of attack then the other. But looking at the Model B's I noticed that the grip is at a different angle giving the magazine floor plate less of an angle. I hope this helps you guys out.0 -
Looks much like 1st Woodsman except Woodsman had a round mag spring in the very front of the mag not visible in the slot.
I read somewhere HiStandard first used Colt mags.
The angled baseplate mag may be for the model HB and the straight one for the HD Military.0
