Winchester Mod. 12
I have a older 1928 Mod. 12 .16ga that has a slight wiggle/wobble at the barrel-reciever twist connection point, how do I tighten this up ? Thanks for any help.

The Blue Book adds value for a "milled" vent rib. Can you explain the distinction or tell me where I might see an example the "milled" version. Thanks 0 -
There is a ring on the barrel that has a little screw on it for headspacing. See if it is loose or has been tampered with. If it has been moved you might want to take it to a gun smith. Next, on the end of the magazine below the muzzle there is a pin that you push through and turn the magazine. Is the magazine threads fully engaging? there will be minor play in the magazine. but, none at the barrel. I just tore mine down to look and sounds like the head spacing.

"prob just need to turn the adjusting ring alittle."............correct, the adjustment ring on the chamber end of the barrel needs to be turned (or replaced if all the adjustment has been used). the mod. 12 20 & 16 gas use the same ring size (12 ga. is different)
"take out screw, pry the lock down, ring should turn."................IF THIS DOEN'T DO IT, SOAK IN KROIL (PENETRATING OIL) FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, THEN A RAG AND CHANNEL LOCK PLIERS (PROTECT THE THREADS!)0 -
Thanks for the replys, is there a special tool or trick to get the adjusting ring to move, mine does'nt seem to want to turn and I don't want to damage it ? 0 -
