When switching from my turkey shotgun barrel in the spring to my 308 barrel for deer hunting in the fall, My zero is never close after changing the barrel back. It is most usually off 2 to 3 inches, always high or low never any windage adjustments. The scope stays mounted on the 308 barrel and never is removed. The scope is simmons 44mag. Any suggestions or anyone have any problems like this.

Do they make a heavy barrel for the Encores? 0 -
wolfpack,
Make sure that;
1.) The base is properly fastened, Loctited, and torqued to the barrrel.
2.) You are using a good set of rings, and don't torque the ring cap screws over 15 INCH pounds.
3.) Put a better scope on it, starting with a Burris FullField II at minimum.

I have a fair amount of barrels and don't have the problem you described - do you use the same hinge pin and forend? Is the bolt spring in the 308 strong? Just throwing out a few ideas separate from the common culprits, I've not heard of this being an issue with the T/Cs. 0
