High Standard double nine 22

Anyone ever heard of a double nine frame cracking just below the hammer. Whats odd is the frame cracked with the revolver laying on the shelf in my gun safe. Crack is not all the way across frame but I could break the grips off with my hands. Thanks for any info.

  New one on me, never heard of any of the HS aluminum frame revolvers cracking like that, with out anybody abusing it.
  
  Run it by John Stimpson on his HS forum. If anybody would know about it, it would be him. He is the all knowing Guru, of anything HS.

  I pulled my Double Nine western .22 down to check, not sure if its what you see but mine has a joint across the top strap where the grip panel starts to curve( positive its not a break). Other than that its solid from the hammer down.
