Look at this Winchester!
What are your thoughts on this Winchester? Is it missing a sight hood? Did Winchesters of this vintage have sight hoods? This one looks real nice and seems like it is listed at a very low price? Any thoughts?

The sight hood is not there. In picture 11 you can see the grooves for it.
I think the starting price is a little high.0 -
Yes, it is missing its sight hood. The gun shows obvious signs of having been used in the field (hunted with), but it is still in very good overall condition. The box and paperwork is original to the gun, and that is a rarity.
The opening bid price is very realistic in my opinion, and it is right in line with what the minimum collector value should be for a pre-64 Model 94 with its original box and paperwork.0 -
Here is another 1963 m-1894 he is selling that is also missing the front sight hood. Same starting $$, but IMO much less wear: Auction # 248726624 0 -
Mr Eric Bailey, you sure seem to come up with a lot of Winchester questions about pieces being offered for sale by this "I'm a Bailey" fellow.
How about talking to the fellow and seeing about managing to get some decent photos of the pieces ... you know between the two of you all ... beings there is: "no, no relation" there between you two Baileys.
Of course decent photos would be doing everyone a favor, right? [:(] [:(!] [:(]0 -

That's because this thread is from last year.0 -
Not much point in keeping a thread open asking for opinions on an auction link one year old and long gone. 0
