Tridium front sight for winchester rifle
Guys I've restored a vintage Winchester Model 55 takedown. I want to hunt with it and am contemplating a tang sight for it. But I want a front sight that compatible for low light. I don't like the look of the fiber optics available. Doesn't look very authentic. But am wondering if there is a sight maker out there that has a front sight with a tridium globe with a 3/8" dovetail base? Any thoughts or advice?[?]

I have a modern custom hand made Lancaster style Flintlock long rifle it has a vintage style front sight with a Elephant Ivory blade. This material is amazing it seems to gather light in low light I mean almost total darkness yet has no glare even in the brightest sun light . Email me if you want a picture. 0 -
You might contact Brownells, they are the biggest site on the net that handles gun parts. See if they carry Tridum rifle sights with a 3/8 dovetail? Very doubtful that it would be a globe type sight though. 0 -

Was on their site recently. I bought an aperture and blade from them a few years back for a 10/22. Nice quality.0 -

Good to see you again.
Since the dovetail is the same size as a Winchester 94, look for that in the size charts. I do believe it is the standard 3/8" dovetail. That should be an excellent set up for sighting, but the sight might look a little out of place, not being a bead, or blade type sight. I have an 1892 that was made in 1895, and have that Lyman #2 tang sight on it, that is original of that time frame also. It is in 38 W.C.F., and is a tack driver, with that tang sight and front bead.
Remember...remove the sight from left to right, and install from right to left.

Hey bud good to see you to. Yeah the 55 turned out great. Since I posted the thread looking for the tritium front sight I found a source: http://www.brockmansrifles.com/sight_options.asp.
They've got a sight blade with a tritium globe. I'm going to call them today to confirm it is a 3/8" dovetail and will probably pick it up. Then I'll buy a Marble's tang sight. top it all off with a rear sight slot blank and I'm on my way. I have a winchester 1886 with the same set up as your 92. It is a tack driver as well. Thanks for the tip on sight removal. Dad taught me the same (left to right) years ago.0
