S&W 9603
I have a chrome plates S&W 357 mag revolver and on the frame inside the yoke it is stamped 6903 the serial number is S 594xxx I cannot find anything on SW making this model anyone has any suggestions or answers ??? many thanks

By its naming convention, the Smith and Wesson model 6903 would be an aluminum alloy frame steel slide double-action double-stack semiauto 9mm luger pistol.
Sounds like that is NOT what you have!
There may have been an experimental model 69 revolver in .357 magnum as a limited run.
As other food for though, mis-stamps have been known to occur, and poor stamps may be misread as as different number.
Could you post a clear picture of the engravings inside the frame?

Sounds like you have a .38 spl revolver made between 1945-48. The 6903 is an assembly number and the S 594xxx is the serial number.
Exactly how many numbers are in the serial number? What does it say on the barrel & outside of the frame?0 -
What are the markings on the barrel? 0
