best 32 ACP defensive round
I know that 32 ACP isn't really a great defensive round, but if its all available, what would be best? A 60 gr HP? A 71 FMJ? Or Buffalo Bore 77 gr LFP +P?

Imho would go with at least a .380ACP +P at the very minimum, however here are some to get started with:
RBCD .32 ACP 37 gr. TFSP 1815 fps / 271 ftlbs
Corbon .32 ACP 60gr JHP 1050fps / 147 ftlbs
BB .32 ACP 75gr. HCFN 1150fps / 220 ftlbs
I tried to come up with a few 'potent' rounds for the .32 ACP however was not able to locate a BB 77 gr LFP +P and only the BB .32 ACP 75gr. HCFN, very nice pistol though.
What .32 ACP pistol would you be firing these from?0 -
My opinion is, given the rather modest power in the .32 compared to other, more powerful cartridges, that the heavier FMJ round would be the better choice because, being that it IS the heavier slug, it hits harder and will penetrate better than the lighter hollowpoint.
Plus, being a FMJ, it will be less likely to cause failures to feed in pistol.0 -
It is a Seecamp. And the heaviest bullet is not the 71 gr FMJ, but rather the Buffola Bore 77 gr LFP +P which is where I am leaning. 0 -
Seecamp only says to shoot I THINK,,Winchester Silvertips,,,it says in big writing in the box..So if thats what you are using thats what I would shoot...Might check Seecamps sight to be sure. 0 -
When I was carrying a 32ACP, it was loaded with WW Silvertips.
Seecamp didn't recommend anything at the time.0 -
I'd recommend the heaviest bullet weight NON-expanding round that reliably cycles your gun, whatever that might be.
With small caliber rounds (eg .22, .25. .32) the limiting factor in effectiveness is always penetration. The way you maximize penetration is with a HEAVY, NON-expanding round.
As to the Buffalo Bore rounds, those look good with one caveat. The Buffalo Bore rounds are pretty powerful, and I honestly don't know if a Seecamp will hold up to them (let alone actually cycle them given the probably longer than normal bullet profile).0 -
Any European 7.65 will do. Geco, Fiocchi, or even Sellier and Bellot are loaded hotter than most American ammo. Most centerfire hollowpoints up to and including .380 are a waste of money since they seldom open up. Better to just practice for accuracy with ball and carry that. 0 -
I believe Wolf, Beantown, and Skyking are all on the money. Reliability gets the bullet there, and adequate penetration should be sacrificed to no other thing. 0 -
I would go with the facts and seeing is believing especially from manufacturers that have a solid +P performance reputation. 0
