WaffenWerks may Manufacture AKM/AK47 and PSL?
Heard that WaffenWerks may be manufacturing an AKM/AK47 and PSL by the end of the year for sale, has anyone else heard this as well or have anymore info about it?

Things are rough with the economy now, jobs, foreclosures etc. Big difference from 2006. Don't see anybody putting stuff like this on the market unless they can under cut the price that Century gets gets for their guns, or what it costs Bubba to build them from flats in his garage. 0 -

Well, you're never going to beat the cost of "Bubba" building a gun from a flat in his garage, but I don't think you really have to.
Ditto for beating Century's price.
The trick is to provide a product in a niche that isn't filled in the market, or, alternatively, simply to take share away from an otherwise burgeoning market.
By this logic, in today's economy and with a dozen manufacturers doing so already (let alone big-name ones like Smith, Colt, Taurus, Kimber, Springfield, etc) nobody new should be putting out 1911s. . .yet despite the recession and already overcrowded market in those pistols, both Ruger and Remington have put out new models in the last year! Why? Answer, the market for 1911s is still large, they want market share. . .its that simple.
I'd argue that a high-quality $750 American built Kalashnikov isn't really competing with a roughly made $450 Romanian import. Same gun, maybe, but different niche in the market.
The whole reason you'd buy something like a Waffenworks gun is because you want something good, and therefore do NOT want to build it yourself in your garage or take a chance on something cobbled together by the "technicians" at Century arms.
Now, to answer the question, there is no "may be" about it.
Waffenworks is already marketing a custom-designed shortened version of the PSL they call the AK54R, and these have been available for sale for at least a few months, currently listed at $839:

I have asked around and like I said heard that it may be but haven't received any official response from either yet and hoped that someone on the boards may have had some info either way.
Anyway I hope that it is rather than not.0 -
Yes I am familiar with the rifles that you are referring too, but no I am talking about 2 different rifles; an AKM/AK-47 in 7.62x39 (not the AK-74) and PSL rifle with the 24" barrel and not the 18" barrel carbine. 0 -

If you've tried contacting WaffenWorks then that's about as far as you can take this, I think. Anything other than a confirmation or denial by them would just be rumor or speculation.0 -
I cant wait...[:D] they should be nice, although I like Arsenal especially the milled but they are way overpriced and the milled vs stamped argument is...yawn pretty futile. However, have yet to see a stamped anything be worn out, ruined or otherwise from shooting and even our so called enemy cant seem to manage that one from what I have seen and I have seen alot.
And I don't believe that accuracy, strength or otherwise is affected by milled vs stamped either maybe unless your going to use it as a pry-bar or something I guess and even then they are plenty strong.0
