Browning A-bolt 280
I won a Browning A-bolt 280 stainless stalker at a company outing. It is brand new with all the tags on it. I cannot seem to find this exact gun anywhere to compare and see what it's value is. Someone told me that they stopped making the A-bolt rifle and that this gun might be worth some money in the future. Any help would be great. Thanks

Browning still makes the A-bolt Stainless Stalker...just don't see .280 listed...0 -
They made a Stainless Stalker A-Bolt from 1987-1993, then the A-Bolt II version from 1994 untill the present. I would believe yours is the A-Bolt II version. There were a lot of them made in the 280 Remington chambering, and I would say it would be a good 50 years before you might see a collector status if there is one. To be a quick term collector with value, it doesn't have either of the required name brands either. However, it is a great cartridge, capable of any North American game, but I would use it sparingly on the big bears of the North West.
By the way, the Blue Book(not that it is anything but an entertaining publication) says your rifle's value is $885.00

What about the real world value
Probably $600.00ish...although I have a 260 Remington A-Bolt II Stainless Stalker that you could not pay me enough for it. I love it.
