RR 1943 1911 ??????
there's a RR 1911 DOM 1943 available.
barrel is properly marks HS on the lug.
grips are brown plastic with the "K" in a star inside.
mag is full blue with tack welded base and on the back of the tube.
i can't find anything wrong with this gun.
it's got holster wear and overall 90% finish.
widow brought it to me and wants to sell it. I can't get the pics out of the cell phone![B)]
my first thought is it's a $1200 gun. but i don't want to short change the old gal. don't want to overpay either. she says "just give me what you think its worth"
any ideas?
i know w/o pics its hard, but it's a solid 90% gun and all original, as far as i can tell.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks
tom

See what correct W W II 1911's are actually going for on the auctions. Use that as a guide as to what your offer should be. Keep in mind if is is correct, as per your description, not likely it would ever go down in value. 0 -
1500 bucks[;)] 0 -
I agree with your $1200 thought.Fair for the both of you. 0 -
A person to person sale is always Hard to determine a Value . I would like to BUYat $1000.00 in the condition you describe. and SELLat $1500.00 .So I think your price is fair to both parties. 0 -
A few months ago I bought a RR in 98% original condition on GB for $1,450, which I thought was a good buy.
I would think $1,000 would be top dollar for one in 90% condition, & you wouldn't get hurt even if it turns out to have been refinished.

edit:
told the widow about the prices. i told her some folks might pay more than what i was willing. she's going to put it in the local auction this weekend with the farm equipment and see what it brings. i told her i'd bid up to $1200 for it. she seemed grateful.
thanks again all.
