Brass Jacketed .45 Hollow point

I never paid much attention to handgun ammo, but am getting a .45 and see a lot of brass jacket bullets on the market. What is the advantage or disadvantage to this type of bullet?

  Are we speaking of a 45ACP used in semi auto pistols or 45Colt like used in revolvers[?] Need more information. on what type of shooting you are planing.Also.
  
  EDIT are you using to PLINK[?]Hunt[?],Target shooting[?] or defensive purposes.[?]

  Yep a .45 acp. I'm just wondering how a brass jacketed HP bullet would differ from a copper jacketed HP.

  Most common of the brass jacketed HP's is the Remington Golden Sabre. I have shot their factory stuff and used their bullets for reloading in the past. I doubt if their is a nickels difference between their bullets and other high quality HP's made by Winchester, Federal, Hornady etc.

  Keep in mind, that most brass alloys are 80-90% copper. There is not an awful lot of difference, but there is some. Brass can be a little harder than copper, so the jacket design might have to be optimized. The other big difference is marketing hype. Being able to supposedly offer something the competition doesn't have.

  I tried some of those Golden Saber. Not very impressed for the price.
