22-250 for Deer "updated"...
Folks...Again, this forum is GREAT! I wanted to thank everyone for actually answering my question. I KNOW that a 22-250 for deer would not probably be the caliber of choice for most....BUT I wanted to hear about ACTUAL EXPERIENCE using this cartridge...THANKS!!!! Back in the 30's & 40's my Dad knew an "old woodsman" in the U.P. of Michigan who killed many deer with an old Winchester .22WRF pump.

well, up here (N. Wisconsin) the all time 'most deer killed' round is the .22 l.r. (of coarse the target is well lighted and stationary [;)]). I've shot several deer with the .22 hornet (legal), one shot right behind the ear. the .22/250 will work well IF you pick your shot. there are much better choices tho. 0 -
