Sunshade For Redfield 6X18 Scope
I recently bought a mint condition 1970s-era Redfield 6X18 scope I plan to put on a varmint rifle. The scope came with no manual, paperwork, or box, but I believe the objective is 40MM. Scope also has the standard Redfield gloss finish. Does anyone know if I can get a sunshade for this scope and, if so, where? Will a generic 40MM sunshade fit the thread pattern on this scope? Thank you.

I recently searched for older Redfield parts, & came up with nothing. No one out there is sitting on a stash, & the current Redfields made by Leupold are completely different.
Check the GB auctions, &, if you have a lot of patience, you may find what you want some day.

Measure the id of the bell with a caliber for me. I have a 3" long sunshade laying here
that I got in a box lot deal. The seller had a lot of old redfield scopes. My shade measures
right at 2.04" on the od of the short fine threads. If it fits...it yours free. Bob0 -
Thanks, Bob, I'll have to try to find my calipers or borrow a set. Might be a few days until I can get back to you. Thanks for your generous offer. 0 -
Just let me know....[:D] 0 -
Just got my hands on some calipers and measured the inside diamaeter of the objective bell against the threads: 1.765" or 44.83 MM. Bob, it doesn't look like your sunshade will fit, but thanks much for the kind offer. Searches on GB and EBay have turned up nothing. If anyone else can help, I'd sure appreciate it. 0
