winchester collector grade
i have aquired a 1996 model 70 collector grade #G1278 built in the custom shop. it has 70% coverage engraving with gold elk head on floorplate(absolutely a one of a kind gorgeous rifle).the factory letter does not reveal the engraver. the initials of the engraver are AB could this be angelo bee. he normally signs ABEE, but could have he thrown in an AB because this was a contract job.i did read on another forum that he signed a san remo AB. i have tried to contact him with no response.[:(]

You should ask Pauline Muerrle over on WACA forum, she still engraves and was a Winchester Custom shop engraver.

i have contacted her, she could not verify, her records only go up to 1995. it seem's she was not involved with the outside contract engravers.[8D] 0 -
Can you post some pictures? Not that I'm a Winchester engraving expert, I'd just like to see the rifle and the work. I'm sure it would blow several members skirts in the air.

Very tastefully done. IMHO on a skill level at least an 8 and upward. would need a glass to really look at it but NICE. 0 -

Pauline has excellent 'sight recognition' when it comes to engraving work.
Suggestion: If you haven't already done so, get the pictures over to her at the WACA site.
