S&W model 686 with 83/8 barrell worth???

My friend is selling his gun collection and he is the original owner. Fired this gun one time with me about 9 years ago. Has the original recept and all the paper work including the box.Gun is about NIB as you could get.Its a 357 magnum nickle plated.

  Actually its not nickel, the 686's are made of stainless steel. I would guess the value at about $400 to $500. The 8 3/8" barrels are not real popular compared to the 6" & 4".
