10mm
does anyone know where i might get a 16 in barrel for a glock 20 ????? or will a 16in even fit in a glock? I own two 10mm handguns and have thought that a 10mm carbine would be AWESOME.

Be kind a cool if someone made a 16" slide in titanium. Or even 15" so you can slap a can on her.
I wonder if you can get by on a 6" threaded barrel with a titanium extender to get the 16"? I reckon you'll have to use a full Norma loads so the bullet would be way out there before the last bit of the extender tips the bullet.0 -
I had one of the SASS conversations made years ago by Springfield Armory. It was a single shot conversation in .223, using the Colt 1911A1 frame. With it's 15" barrel the balance and handling were terrible. Trying to shoot it one handed was a joke. I wound up using a special Harris bipod that clamped around barrel, forward of the frame.
IMHO your going to run into the same problem, even if you could get a extended 16" 10mm barrel to function in a G 20 Glock. The only thing that is at all practical, is the Mag Tech.0 -
I believe you will have a single shot because you're adding a lot of mass to the barrel-slide combination and there will also be a recoil spring problem.
A front sight mounted on the barrel will be below the slide's existing front sight.0 -
I added a 6 inch threaded barrel to my Glock 20 and then added a scope mount to the Glock Frame. With that I added a flash supressor/compensator to the barrel. On the scope mount I added a heads up display scope. Then I added a flashlight mount on the rails of the frame. I filed for a short barrel rifle license from our friends the Feds and added a Isralie shoulder stock to the Glock. To the stock I added a combination magazine pouch to hold 2 15 round magazines. I don't think its a question of "remembering"; its just that demand for 10mm carbines is pretty low.
Also most of the inexpensive pistol caliber carbines use simple blow-back actions. Converting from a .40 (or 9mm) to 10mm may require beefing up the action, making it non-trivial for the manufacturer.

You can also add the AWI Feather carbine in 10mm, which takes Glock pistol mags.
I can't answer the question about Glocks, but you can get an Olympic Arms AR-15 upper in 10mm, and that's a relatively lightweight and compact gun.
If you had to, you could even break it down into upper and lower for increased portability, though you wouldn't be able to instantly "snap" the folded gun into a full sized one in one second flat, the way you can with a SUB-2000 carbine.0 -

As long as the barrel was the same dimensions as the factory barrel, where it goes thru the slide, I don't see where accuracy would be any different. There was a company who made carbine conversions for the Glock's and 1911's, in a number of chamberings, including 10mm. The name of the company eludes me right now, but it has, and can be done.
