Scope choice

I have narrowed my scope choice for my Remington .308 down to 2 scopes in my price range. The scope will be used for tactical urban/light rural applications. I am looking at a Weaver Tactical 3-15x or a Burris XTR 3-12x. Has anyone had any bad experiences with either and recommend one over the other? Thanks.

From previous experience, and owning several high end rifle scopes, for under a grand, the Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 is a hard one to beat(under a grand). It is offered in first and second focal plane reticle models, and in both Mrad, and MOA versions. They have a lot of bells and whistles, along with a great tracking system, and glass for the money. I will tell you, that you can fully expect that scope to double in price in the next few years. This scope will smoke the Conquest series.

I have a Zeiss Victory Diavari series, and love it, but it is a $3k scope.

There is a fellow on the auction side that handles high end stuff, out of PA.

Here is a list of his auctions. He handles Zeiss too, and is great to talk to, and very knowledgable. His name is Alex Roy.

I'll be sure to look into it.... (Meaning convince the wife that 3 thousand dollars for a scope is necessary).
