OD Glocks
Would someone be able to tell me the history and story behind the OD Glocks? What would be the worth of a OD Glock 19 (95% condition). Or for that matter the worth of any of the models in OD?
Any info appreciated!

OK. . .(rolls eyes).
Someone in Glock decided that the public wanted olive drab pistols (I guess to match the other OD Glock plastic military stuff they put out), and Glock put a bunch of Gen 3 OD Glocks out, in various configurations. The actual color of the guns is more like a greenish-tan than the classical American army olive drab, but there it is:
They didn't sell well, and Glock discontinued them about a year ago. Glock isn't making any Gen 4 OD guns. . .at least not yet. Many of the retailers that had the OD guns in stock were clearing them out last year on sale for LESS than the cost of the black ones.
They're not particularly scarce, and you'd think that these should be worth no more than the black ones, but I guess its true that yesterday's garbage it today's treasure. Checking the auction site, surprisingly, the OD guns seem to be running about $100 more than similar condition and model black ones.
I doubt I would be willing to pay $100 (or even $20) more for one, but empirically, there are people who are.0 -
The OD models generally dont command any more money than black models unless you can find someone with an affinity for them.. As far as I know it was just a wild hair someone at Glock got.
I won my OD Glock ,middle left, at a Glock match. Glock asked if I wanted it in OD. I said why not, I already have black ones. Its a model 34 and it gets used alot in 3-gun matches. I plan to shoot it in a couple weeks at the Steel Challenge.
