Pictures would sure help. It sounds like a single barrel shotgun.

There were several gun makers using the name PARKER in some form such as Parker Brothers (1865 to 1936) who made high quality shotguns down to Crescent Fire Arms Company (1892 to 1931) who made inexpensive utility grade shotguns in business from about 1850 to 1940. To give you any more information, we need a very good description of the gun, how it works (muzzle loader or breech loader, percussion fired or center fire fixed ammo, single or double barrel and all markings and where found. Be sure to look at the bottom of the barrels for markings).
