What Citori do I have?
I have a Citori o/u 12ga with 30 inch port barels and it says "xs" on the side but not "special." I cant seem to find what I have. It does not have a fancy stock or anything like I'm finding on this site.
Thoughts?

I just bought a nice, used 12 ga Browning Citori 525 on gunbroker.com and I'm not entirely sure what I got. I thought it was maybe a Sporting model because it has vented 30" barrels, adjustable comb and butt plate but now I have my doubts. It does not say Sporting, XT, XS, etc. anywhere, just Citori Special Steel 2 3/4" and 525 under the receiver. According to the serial number it was made in 2001.
Can anyone tell me what I just bought? That is to say, what shooting sport was this gun designed for? Or is it just a general purpose Citori? I can't figure out how to attach pictures to this posting but I would be more than happy to email them. Thanks!0 -
Could anyone please help me figure out how to post pictures of this gun? I see the "insert image" button but don't know what to do with it. Thanks! 0 -
You tell what it is by the serial number.
Look here. Be advised that their are some special made ones that do not show up on this chart but most do.

Thanks but I already saw this chart. The gun's number has "131" which this just tells me is a "Citori" made in 2001. 0 -
Nevermind - I called Browning and they said it was a Sporting model. Funny thought that it doesn't say that anywhere on the gun. 0 -
