open sights
If I am hitting low with open sights do I raise or lower the rear sight on the sight ramp?

need to raise the sights on a muzzle loader. should the rear sight and front sight be the same height? exmp. .500 rear and .500 front 0 -
Shorter front sight. You always go the opposite direction you wish to move the bullet impact with the front sight, and go the same direction you wish the bullet impact to go with the rear sight.

What TSR said: You need a shorter front sight.
To help remember, you can use the acronym "F-O-R-S" (as in "may the FORS be with you!).
Front OPPOSITE, Rear SAME.
As in, if you want to adjust your point of impact, you move the front sight in the direction OPPOSITE you want the group to move, or the rear sight in the SAME direction.
Type of ammo used, and way you acquire your sight picture can, to some extent also affect point of impact.0
