11-87 problem
On occasion my 11-87 will not feed the last round in the magazine. The bolt locks back, just like it would if it was empty. That is the only time it does it, on the last round. It is only a couple or three years old, and I keep it clean.

Bolt will not lock open. Worked fine when last used two years ago. Completely disassembled and cleaned. Even tried swapping out a trigger group from an 1100 that works fine but still won't lock open.Any suggestions on a cure or an explanation of exactly how the bolt is locked very much appreciated. 0 -
With a Remington, always start with a new "O" ring. 0 -
Is this happening when firing or hand cycling the action? If firing, most likely the O-ring(barrel seal) needs replacing. 0 -
This does not concern the o-ring. With gun completely broken down and even with the bolt removed it will not lock open and it should. My 1100 works perfectly in this configuration. There is a problem between the action bar and the trigger group. 0 -
OK. From Khunhausen:Carrier latch spring weak or its plunger is frozen.
Carrier latch is deformed or broken.
Carrier latch engagement stud altered or damaged.
Carrier dog/slide wear/fit problem.
Also check the carrier dog follower and spring.
Let us know what you find. Good luck.
In red...Maybe the most promising as you have cleaned everything already.0 -
Can you tell me exactly what part on the trigger group locks the action bar against the spring tension? Thanks 0 -
The carrier dog catches on the under side of the slide beneath the bolt. 0 -
Thanks for your time and input............ 0
