winchester 94,1894
as a john browning admirer i am curious to know if my winchester 94 born in 1975 is considered one of his designs.can someone tell me the differences between a model 1894,94,and 94 pre-64?also can anyone add to this list of what i believe to be JB designs.browning HP(production began about a decade after his death),Colt 1903 1905 1911 and woodsman,winchester 1894,browning auto-5,50 cal.

A 1975 vintage Model 94 is still considered a J.M.B. design, but it has numerous Winchester originated changes to it.
There is no difference between a Model 1894 and a Model 94 (pre-64). In February of 1919, Winchester simply made the decision to drop the "18" and "19" off all of the various model designations.
John M. Browning began his relationship with the Winchester Repeating Arms Company late in the year 1883, when he sold his very first firearm patent (what became the Model 1885 Single Shot) for the princely sum of $8000. Over the next 18+ years, he sold Winchester the patent rights to the Models 1886, 1887(1901), 1890(1906, 62/62A), 1893(1897), 1894, 1895, 1900(1902, 1904, Thumb Trigger).
The Remington Model 8 (and later 81) was his patent as well.0
