sights rem rifled slug barrel

cannot get to shoot high--rear sight as high as can go--still 6"low at 50 yds. whats the next move. front sight presently .375 dovetail-would .250 fix.

  Hi,
  Simple question: Is the barrel nut too tight? Remington 870 slug guns usually shoot best with the barrel nut just snug.
