Colt Dragoon question
Customer has a Cap and Ball real Colt Dragoon he wants me to sell for him. The SN is 250xx.
What's a fair price for it. It's very pretty, but I have no use for one and have no idea what to ask for it. I'd like to know how I can find out a DOM range too.

without pictures no way to give you a valid price. 0 -
That looks like too many numbers for an original Dragoon. The highest number is 19800 for a 3rd Model. Which model is it? Does it have round or rectangular cylinder stops? Square or round trigger guard? Are you sure it's not a 2nd or 3rd Generation model? 0 -

That's a modern reproduction of a 3rd Model Dragoon but I'm not sure it's even a Colt. Could you please show pics of ALL markings?
Assuming it has the correct Colt markings, it's a "2nd Generation" model F1740 ("F" Series) produced between January of 1980 and February of 1982. Based on your serial number, it was made in early 1980.
If it's new in the box with all of the the paperwork, retail is around $500-600.
Here's a NIB "C" series (serialed from 20901 - 25099) for $600:
